Timing
The best time to do a newborn photo session is between 5 and 15 days after baby arrives. During this sweet window, newborns tend to be extra sleepy and flexible, which makes it so much easier to capture those adorable posed shots. You can definitely get great photos outside this timeframe too, but scheduling within these first couple of weeks usually gives you the most beautiful, peaceful images you'll treasure forever.
During our session, I'll work with your baby's natural rhythm to capture the most beautiful moments, which typically occur while your newborn is peacefully sleeping. A standard newborn session lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours, giving us plenty of time for feeding breaks and other needs.
Throughout the session, I'll guide you with helpful tips to make the experience comfortable and enjoyable.
You don't need to worry about posing for the camera—instead, focus on connecting with your baby through cuddles, gentle touches, and sweet moments together. This natural interaction allows me to capture spontaneous, heartfelt images that you'll treasure for a lifetime.

At my inviting studio every detail is taken care of for you. From beautiful wraps and rompers to blankets for your baby, I also offer a curated selection of dresses for mothers, so you can relax without a worry. We will proceed at your baby's pace, and I will guide you through the entire process with a calm and easygoing demeanour.

WHAT TO WEAR
For newborn sessions, simple and comfortable clothing works best. Soft, neutral tones create beautiful photographs while keeping your baby as the focal point, allowing the tender moments and meaningful family connections to shine through.
Parents often choose light knitwear, soft dresses, or simple shirts in neutral colours.
Newborns are dressed in specially selected soft outfits and blankets during the session, so you don't need to bring special clothing unless there's something meaningful you'd like to include.

Q. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK A NEWBORN SESSION?
The ideal time for newborn photos is within the first 5-14 days after birth, when babies are still very sleepy and snuggly. That said, beautiful images can be created at any age, so if your baby has already arrived, don’t worry. I’ll work with you to capture your little one whenever you’re ready.
How long does it take to get our photos?
Within 2 weeks you will receive a full gallery of around 100 hand-edited images online for selection. This is when you will have the opportunity to make further upgrades if you wish.
DO YOU INCLUDE FAMILY AND SIBLING PHOTOS IN NEWBORN SESSIONS?
Yes, always. Your newborn is a precious part of your family story, so I make sure parents and siblings are part of the session too. These connections are often the most treasured images.
WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Newborn sessions are photographed in the comfort of my West Melton studio, creating a calm and relaxed experience during those early days.
Sessions typically last 1.5-2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, settling, and cuddling without feeling rushed.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR SESSION?
Neutral, soft tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family’s connections.
Most clients utilise the client wardrobe which has a beautiful selection of dresses ranging from sizes 8-18- also newborn knits and blankets.
READY TO BOOK?
• Begin by completing my contact form on my website, and I will respond within 24 hours with additional details and pricing.
• I will send you your documents, after which a $100 deposit is required to secure your spot.
• Once your little one has arrived, we will schedule a date for your session in the studio.
• After 2 weeks you will receive your gallery via an email link, allowing you to choose from 60 to 80 images, with options to upgrade image collections. These images will be sent digitally, ready for you to print and share with your family.
